Growing Figs

fig treeSometimes when you go to the store to get windshield washer fluid, you wind up coming home with a fig tree.

I don't know how it happens but I think I saw something about this mysterious phenomenon on 60 Minutes. Something to do with spring and the polarity of the shopping cart making the plant just jump right in there.

Now I just have to explain this phenomenon to my wife. She loves figs. And then maybe she'll understand how I forgot to get the windshield washer fluid.

HA, those darn pots just jump into my cart also when my back is turned! We ordered a fig this year for the first time, hope both of ours are a great success!

Haha! Isn't that the truth. I can't tell you how many times I've gone online for something and ended up doing something completely different. At least once a day. You habit seems to be a little more, dangerous, I'd say!

Good luck with the fig. Let us know how it turns out with the Mrs. and all...

I did this last year. It was a grape vine that jumped into my cart. My garden was so unprepared for it that it took me more than eleven months to get it in the ground. (I had to hire out having two weedy trees removed to get enough sunlight in my yard for a grape.)

    Hi Frances,
Yes, sounds good. Figs for everyone!

    Katie,
The Mrs. loves figs, so it wasn't too bad. :)

    MSS,
Yes, I have a few hundred daffodil bulbs in my garage that I wasn't ready for either. Hope your grapes are all settled now.

Hahaha! I have experienced this phenomenon myself. And what a great name for a site!

One small issue though...I'm a Mac/Firefox user and google/blogger sites are problematic for making comments. I had to switch to Safari to view the word verification and there's more but I'll stop there.

How about this...thanks for allowing Name/URL comments!

    Spring's a comin...happy happy...

    Hi Kimberly,
Thanks for stopping by. I'm a Mac/FF user myself and I've never noticed anything odd about the comments but I'll check it out. I wouldn't want to lose any Mac/FF readers.
