We've Moved

Daylily In The Rain

We had an unexpected rain storm this weekend. It was unexpected but very much welcomed.

Any day that I don't have to drag the hoses all over the yard to water everything is a good day.

I think this daylily agreed with me because it opened up the very next day after the storm.

I'd love to get some rain right now. We are so dry.

By the way, you might check that plant again, from the leaves it doesn't appear to be a daylily, more like an asiatic lily?

Carol, You're probably right but I've been calling it a daylily because that's what it said on the plant tag when I bought it a few years ago. Probably some confusion at the nursery.

It's raining right now which is great since I'm feeling lazy and the lawn went dormant last week.

It looks like an asiatic lily to me, too.

What a great photo! All that spikey green and the raindrops perched on top of it. Love it!

It doesn't look like one to me either...although a lovely photo! That's surprising at a nursery, but who knows. I think people get confused because folks will call their daylilies 'lilies'. True lilies are grown from bulbs (Lilium) and daylilies (hemerocallis) are not.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be lovely when it blooms.

    Take care.

I'm with you...any day that I don't have to drag the hoses around is a good day :-) Thankfully, we had a little rain last night, so I'm happy.

Oh, and Stuart tagged me for a meme, and I tagged you. Check out my blog for the rules.

I've been really lucky, since gallivanting around Europe for two months, it's done nothing but rain back in Japan. I thought as the in-laws are so busy working, everything would get burnt to a crisp.
