Even better than composted manure is Nature's Blend composted manure, alfalfa humate and compost, all in one bag found at better garden centers.

I'll have to give Nature's Blend a try. Thank Carolyn!

Oh my, bagged compost stuff. Farmgirl got all over my case for even thinking of buying it.

If I was a full-time composter for a living I would agree with Farmgirl but sometimes you just have to make due with what's at the store.

Pesky things like my 9-5 job are always getting in the way of my gardening. :)

    Compost is definitely "good stuff"!

We are missing the other "good stuff" though - your great posts! How about a "what's Decomposing?" or a vegetable garden update?

I know, that ol' 9-5 is getting in the way again isn't it?

Yes, the 9-5, getting ready for my son's fifth birthday parties (yes, two parties) and a really bad case of poison ivy have been slowing me down lately.

Sorry about the lack of posts. :(

Right on re: the Good Stuff, Anthony! I compost in my two little bins, but it doesn't make quite enough for my garden's voracious appetite. And one would think that anyone who spreads out so much mulch each year would be forgiven buying some bagged compost to complement that. :)

(Yeah, I still can't get over how much mulch you spread this year. I still am trying to get my measly six yards off of the end of the driveway and onto the garden!)

Hi Kim, Yes, mulch and compost are my hobbies. I have no time for plants or anything because I'm always spreading mulch and making compost. :)
