Mine right now are in at least 1.5 lbs which is huge for us in the high desert. We are lucky sometimes to get anything at all. Have not noticed any germination problems but then again I did not pay much attention. Next year I will though. I also love the Burpee's 4th of July.Woghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11976978224497860336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15257330.post-41069687716783436192009-03-03T11:54:00.000-05:002009-03-03T11:54:00.000-05:00How about starting them from seed? Maybe try a different variety.Anthonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06836531596317603886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15257330.post-13727388127161228662009-03-03T11:45:00.000-05:002009-03-03T11:45:00.000-05:00I've had the same results growing from seeds from ...I've had the same results growing from seeds from Burpee so last year I ordered plants from Burpee and they came in late April. By the time they came, it was too hot to set the bloom and they will not ship plants any earlier. Most growers will not sell plants earlier here in Dallas earlier. Any advise for large, early, plants?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15257330.post-58571891550434969302007-08-03T14:06:00.000-04:002007-08-03T14:06:00.000-04:00They're definitely some nice looking beefstake tom...They're definitely some nice looking beefstake tomatoes. Other than the low germination rate and slightly undersized fruits, were there any big problems? I just want to make sure this type is worth trying before I get it since i'm a sucker for advertising too. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15257330.post-44140454791647321082007-08-01T21:42:00.000-04:002007-08-01T21:42:00.000-04:00Hi Katie, Thanks for stopping by. My Burpee asparagus and soybeans never even germinated! They have such a beautiful catalog full of promise, but I will take my $$ elsewhere next year. Sad but true...Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10071261767244278953noreply@blogger.com
